I started this website as a senior in high school to show case my client work and my nature photos. Now that work is a very small part of what I do. As I sit here and reflect, that fact hits me. I’ve known I wanted to be a photographer since I was in sixth grade and got my first flip phone. What being a photographer looks like has changed for me over the years, and I am grateful for it.
When I was in 11th grade, I started to doubt photography could be a career. I knew people did it, but I thought it was a long shot. In 12th grade, I decided I was exactly the type of person who could make it in this career, but I still had limits in my mind. There were still limits to what I thought I could do. These past two years working as a photojournalist and sports photographer, I’ve learned that there are not limits. My work gives me new experiences and allows me to meet new people every single day. My work allows me to tell the stories of those people — stories that really matter. Photography has allowed me to build a community around the country and world. My work makes my life fuller. I still can’t believe where this work has taken me so far and I’m so excited to see where it take me next.
I am currently finishing my final year of college at the University of Pittsburgh. I will graduate in April 2022 with a bachelors degree in Film and Media Studies. I hope to continue my career in both sports and journalism after college.
